Vincent-Beck Stadium

Vincent-Beck Stadium, home of Lamar University baseball since 1969, is one of the premier college baseball facilities in the Southwest. Originally named Cardinal Field, it was renamed in 1981 to honor Al Vincent and Bryan Beck. The stadium seats 3,500.

Vincent, a former Texas League player and manager, served 16 years as a Lamar assistant coach and was inducted into the Cardinals Hall of Honor in 1980. Beck, a former Lamar Board of Regents member (1969–80), played a key role in athletic facility development.

The stadium has undergone numerous upgrades: infield resurfacing (1998), new turf (1999), brick backstop (2000), batter’s eye (2001), foul poles (2003), and a renovated clubhouse in 2010 featuring custom lockers, leather seating, and a mural of former Cardinals in MLB. Chairback seats were added in 1990, and the press box was modernized before the 1993 Sun Belt tournament.

Amenities include concession stands, restrooms under the bleachers, and paved parking along the third base line. Field dimensions are 325 feet to the corners, 370 to the alleys, and 380 to center.

Vincent-Beck has hosted professional teams, Junior Olympic Baseball Super Series (1992–93), and Southland Conference tournaments (2001–02), with Lamar winning the 2002 title and advancing to the NCAA Regional.
