LU announces Speed and Power Camp

BEAUMONT - Lamar University track coach Trey Clark and strength and conditioning coach Josh Miller have announced the first-ever LU Speed and Power Camp, which will run from July 7-10 at Dauphin Athletic Complex.

The camp, which is open to those ages 12 and over, will run from 9 a.m. until noon each day. The morning will begin with a session focused on improving one's speed before moving into the J.B. Higgins Weight Room for the power session. The total cost, which includes a T-shirt, is $50.

There will also be a speed camp offered for ages five and over that will run from 10:30 a.m. until noon each day. The cost for this camp, which also includes a T-shirt, is $25.

Clark, who recently completed his 15th season at the helm of the track and field program, has mentored over 80 Southland individual champions in his time, including seven All-Americans. Miller, who directs the entire sports performance program at LU, is a member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches of America and carries certification from United States Weightlifting.
