BEAUMONT - On Thursday, July 19th the Cardinal Club will hold its 2nd annual Phon-a-thon to promote its annual membership drive. Close to eighty volunteers will be on-hand to make phone calls to local area alumni, season ticket holders, and community supporters, encouraging them to support Lamar Athletics by donating to the Cardinal Club.

Membership donations to the Cardinal Club help fund the nearly $1,000,000 in scholarships that are awarded each year for Lamar student-athletes.

The Summer Phon-a-thon will take place in the Montagne Center. 40 volunteers will make phone calls during the morning session from 9:00-11:00am, and 40 volunteers will take the afternoon session from 1:00-3:00pm.

The goal for this year's membership drive is $150,000.
