Andrew Beyke was hired as an assistant athletic trainer at Lamar prior to the start of the 2013-14 season, and will work directly with the LU men's basketball team.
Beyke comes to Beaumont after spending the past season in the high school ranks serving as the head athletic trainer at Oldham County (Ky.) High School. During that time Beyke provided coverage for all sports on the OCHS campus. In addition to his work with the high school, Beyke also provided training assistance at several community events including the UCI Cyclocross Championships.
Beyke is already familiar with athletic training at the collegiate level, having spent one season as an assistant at Kentucky Wesleyan College. He served as the primary contact for several sports, including baseball, men's and women's soccer and women's basketball. He also served as the secondary contact for football, volleyball and cross country.
Beyke also served as a student trainer while pursuing his degree at Murray State. He received his bachelor's degree from MSU in May 2009. Beyke got his first experience in the Southland Conference while serving as a graduate assistant at Southeastern Louisiana. During his time in Hammond, Beyke worked with the Lady Lion volleyball team, as well as with the SLU football team. Beyke received his master's degree in May 2011.
