Troy Van Zile joined the Lamar Athletics Department in December 2013 as Assistant Athletic Director/Development.
Van Zile came to Lamar from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he served in a similar capacity. At Whitewater, Van Zile administered capital fundraising campaigns for an indoor tennis arena, a football performance center, a sports complex for baseball, soccer and track and field, and aesthetic improvements for the football stadium. During his time at Whitewater, he exceeded the university's major gift-performance goal by more than 400 percent.
Van Zile was the assistant athletic director/development at Benedictine for six years, where he oversaw annual giving, corporate sponsorships and the renovation and addition of athletic capital projects.
He started his career as the event and entertainment manager for the Peoria Chiefs minor-league baseball team. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, he holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in exercise sport science - sport administration.
He is a member of National Association for Collegiate Directors of Athletics and National Association of Athletic Development Directors.
