Michael Wilkinson Position: Assistant Director of Marketing

Michael Wilkinson joined the Lamar athletics department as the assistant director of marketing in September of 2011.

In this role, Wilkinson will develop, implement and oversee the marketing and promotions for all of Lamar's 17 intercollegiate sports. His role will include building support of Lamar athletics through university groups, students, the local community and businesses.

Wilkinson came to Lamar after a two-year stint as a marketing assistant at Angelo State University. While at Angelo, Wilkinson was responsible for all marketing and promotion efforts for football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, soccer and softball.

A native of Bay City, Texas, Wilkinson also served an internship in corporate development with the Houston Rockets.

Wilkinson earned his Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Texas A&M in 2009. He also earned a Masters of Education in Coaching, Sport, Recreation and Fitness Administration while at Angelo State.
