SUGAR LAND - After Jonathan Dziedzic put on a historic pitching performance in the morning, the offense took center stage in the evening, run-ruling Southeastern Louisiana in 12-2 fashion in seven innings to move the Lamar baseball team one step closer to Southland Tournament glory at Constellation Field.

FRISCO - Three Lamar women's tennis players were honored for their academic achievement on Wednesday as the Southland Conference named Carolina Salas, Natalia Mayagoitia and Alicia Porte to the All-Academic team.

SUGAR LAND - It was a performance for the ages on Friday afternoon as Jonathan Dziedzic recorded 26 outs before allowing his first hit of the game as the Lamar baseball team sent regular season conference champion Sam Houston State home from the Southland Tournament in 3-1 fashion at Constellation Field.

SUGAR LAND - Head coach Jim Gilligan had to go to his bullpen early on Thursday afternoon, and fortunately for the Lamar baseball team, Lance Warren answered the call in impressive fashion, allowing just three hits over 8.2 innings of work to lead the Cardinals to a 10-3 victory over McNeese State, knocking the Cowboys out of the Southland Tournament at Constellation Field.

BEAUMONT - The Lamar men's track team is set to send distance standouts Sam Stabler and Joe Wade to this weekend's NCAA West Preliminaries at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas.

SUGAR LAND - Southeastern Louisiana showed off some late inning heroics on Wednesday night, but the Lamar baseball team was unable to match it in the top of the ninth, scoring just once en route to a 5-3 loss in the opening round of the Southland Tournament at Constellation Field.

BEAUMONT - Historically, Lamar stands out as one of the Southland Conference's most recognized baseball programs, and on Wednesday, the 2013 edition will look to carry on that proud tradition as the Cardinals will open up play at the Southland Championship Baseball Tournament at Constellation Field in Sugar Land.

BEAUMONT - After putting together the first winning conference record since 2009, the Lamar baseball team capped its strong regular season by placing a league-leading eight Cardinals on the All-Southland teams.
