The Lamar University Athletics Media Relations department is responsible for providing accurate and timely information to a variety of customers, including media, student-athletes, coaches and fans. The office, which is comprised of three full-time staff members, reports on and publicizes all 16 varsity sports in addition to improving the image of the Lamar University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, as well as that of Lamar University in general.

Other areas of responsibility handled by the Media Relations staff include writing content for Lamar's official athletic Web site (LamarCardinals.com), arranging interviews with student-athletes and coaches, setting up and moderating press conferences, and publishing the media / recruiting guides.
