Lamar welcomes Houston to Vincent-Beck Stadium on Tuesday in its lone midweek game in an attempt to put an end to a four-game losing streak to its I-10 neighbors.

Lamar (15-4) returns home following its first road trip of the season - a 2-1 series win at Central Arkansas. The Cardinals are ranked No. 29 in this week's Collegiate Baseball poll and have won all four weekend series this season, in addition to a 4-1 midweek ledger.

Left-hander Kevin Angelle will make his fourth start of the season and carries a 2-0 record with a 5.91 ERA. He has 19 strikeouts with eight walks in 10.2 innings. He has won his last two starts - both of which came in midweek outings - against Houston Baptist and Prairie View.

Houston (3-14) has struggled this season after opening the year with a 2-2 start, going 1-12 in its last 13, including its current four-game losing streak. The Cougars will start left-hander Donnie Joseph against the Cardinals. In 10 appearances out of the bullpen he is 0-1 with one save over 11.2 innings.

Houston leads the series 46-24 and has won the last four games, including last year's 3-2 decision in Beaumont when the Cougars scored the game-winning run in the eighth inning.

First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on KLVI 560-AM.
