BEAUMONT, Texas - The Lamar University baseball team heads to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a crucial three-game Southland Conference series this weekend.

Lamar (17-13 overall, 4-8 SLC) is tied for ninth with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (12-18, 4-8), one game behind eighth-place Nicholls for the final Southland Conference Tournament berth. The series opens at 6:30 p.m. Friday, and continues with games at 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. All three contests will be played at Whataburger Field.
