Oct. 17, 2013

BEAUMONT – After taking home 39 victories in the spring, the Lamar baseball team entered this fall with a lot of momentum. The Cardinals will look to keep it going as they close out the season with a game at Rice and the traditional Red and White Series at Vincent-Beck Stadium.

On Saturday, the team will head over to Reckling Park to take on regional powerhouse Rice for a 14-inning encounter. The game is the second of the fall after knocking off Texas in 10-8 fashion last month in Austin. First pitch on Saturday is set for 1 p.m.

Following the Rice game, LU will return home on Wednesday, Oct. 23 for the first game of the Red and White series. The teams will be split up for a best-of-seven series at Vincent-Beck. The Cards will return to the field over the ensuing two days before breaking for the weekend. The final games of the series are slated to begin on Monday, Oct. 28. Each day’s games will start at 2 p.m.
