Lamar to continue play at Virginia in NIT Season Tip-Off

BEAUMONT - Lamar University learned today that its men's basketball team will continue play in the NIT Season Tip-Off with a 6 p.m. contest at host Virginia on Monday. The Cardinals then face IUPUI the following day at 3:30 p.m. to close out the four-game tournament.

The Cardinals (0-2) opened in the Midwest Region against host Kansas State, falling 79-55. The Cardinals then fell 74-59 to North Texas. Prior to travelling to Virginia, the Cardinals will take on Charlotte this Saturday for a 6:30 p.m. tip.

Lamar has never met Virginia of the Atlantic Coast Conference or IUPUI of the Summit League on the basketball court. The Cardinals will play their first 11 games of the season on the road before hosting LIU-Brooklyn on Dec. 29.
