The Lamar Cardinals (7-4 OVR) (4-3 SLC) head to Cowboy Stadium in Lake Charles, LA to compete against McNeese State (6-4 OVR) (4-3 SLC) in their final game of the season. Game time is slated for 6PM.


Highlights: UIW 20 - LU 31

(BEAUMONT, TX) The Lamar Cardinals take home the close win over Incarnate Word with a final score of 20-31. Lamar had yet another record breaking game when Mark Roberts became the first player in Lamar history to record 1,000 receiving yards.

The Cardinals will travel next week to McNeese to take on the Cowboys.

FB Highlights: Cardinals defeat Huskies 72-14

(BEAUMONT TX); The Huskies of Houston Baptist rolled into town to take on the Cards for their Homecoming. Lamar wasted no time with HBU, the duo of Caleb Berry and Mark Roberts dominated the first quarter and half. Caleb hooked up with Mark four times for touchdowns, which included an eighty one yard score late in the 1st Quarter. Just before halftime Caleb found Mark one more time for a touchdown which gave him the schools all-time record for receiving touchdowns with nineteen. Not to be out done, Caleb passed for a record seven touchdowns in the first half. Lamar led 62-7 at the midway point. The Big Red defense smoothered the Huskies all night by constantly putting pressure on their quarterbacks which led to 6 takeaways, 4 interceptions and 2 fumbles. Final score was Lamar 72-14 and the Cards now have 6-3 and 3-2 in Conference play. The Cardinals will travel to Central Arkansas next Saturday to take on the Bears.
