Hometown:
Beaumont, Texas

Position:
Offensive Line

Experience:
Second Season

Chuck Langston is in his second year working with the Lamar offensive line. He came to Beaumont after spending the 2012 season with Central Oklahoma.

Langston will be charged with the responsibility of reloading the Cards' offensive front after the loss of a four-year anchor at center, Kyle Gillam. The team's starter since the day LU resurrected the program, Gillam blossomed into one of the Southland's top offensive linemen during his career. He concluded his four years by receiving second-team all-conference honors last season.

Langston brings over a decade of college coaching experience to Lamar. Additionally, he knows Southeast Texas after starring at West Brook High School, and he played collegiately at the highest level as a three-year starter for the University of Oklahoma.

Before joining Lamar, Langston spent three years as the head coach and Athletics Director at Trinity (Texas) High School after one season at Groveton (Texas) High School as the special teams coordinator.

Langston then moved to the college ranks where he spent five seasons as the head coach at NCAA Division II Central Oklahoma. Langston guided the Broncos to a 29-24 record during his time as head coach, including a 9-3 record in 2003 and a spot in the second round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs.

Langston's first head coaching job came at Trinity Valley Community College from 2000-02. During his last season with the Cardinals, Langston led the team to a 10-2 record and a 33-22 win over Jones County Junior College in the Heart of Texas Bowl.

Prior to being named head coach at Trinity Valley, Langston spent one season coaching the defensive line and special teams.

Langston's first collegiate coaching position came at his alma mater where he served for three seasons (1997-99) as tight ends and defensive line coach after one year as a graduate assistant coach.

Following a standout prep career at West Brook, Langston earned four letters at center for the Sooners. He served as a team captain and helped OU to three bowl appearances during his playing days.

Langston earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Oklahoma in 1995 before getting his master's degree from OU in 1999.

Langston and his wife Amy have three sons, Christian, Justice and Reagan Luke.
