BEAUMONT, Texas -
Lamar football has scheduled its Pro Day for Monday, March 10. Pro Day is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. from Provost Umphrey Stadium. NFL scouts will be in Beaumont to evaluate Lamar players who have finished their collegiate ability and looking to play at the next level.
Following a record-setting season, Lamar had several players invited to play in the NFLPA FCS Senior Scout including defensive end Jesse Dickson, punter Kollin Kahler and deep snapper Chris Maikranz. Both Dickson and Maikranz received All-America honors following the season, becoming the first two Cardinal players to receive the honor since Lamar brought football back.
The 2014 version of the Cardinals will host the Crawfish Bowl beginning at noon Saturday. Lamar returns several starters from a 2013 offense that set numerous team and individual records this past season. Senior to-be quarterback Caleb Berry returns from a 2013 campaign that saw him record the best individual season for a Lamar quarterback in school history. He returns several weapons including SLC leading receiver Reggie Begelton and SLC Freshman of the Year Kade Harrington.
The Cardinals have a young, talented group of players on the defensive side of the ball looking to lock down a starting role. Lamar has been the Southland's top defense against the pass each of the past two seasons.
