BEAUMONT – With a number of former Cardinals looking to further their playing careers, the Lamar football team will host a pro day on Sunday at Provost Umphrey Stadium.

NFL scouts from a number of teams are scheduled to make the trek to Beaumont, and LU standouts DePauldrick Garrett, Jordan Garrett, Marcus Malbrough and Stephone Mercer will be among the players working out.

Malbrough, an invitee to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl earlier this year, will look to continue improving his prospects. DePauldrick Garrett put up more than 600 yards of offense at running back, and both Jordan Garrett and Stephone Mercer were important cogs in the LU defense.

The day’s activities are slated to begin at 1:30 p.m.
