BEAUMONT, Texas - The Lamar University football team will sport a sharp look when it takes to the field after a 21-year absence this fall.

The Cardinals will sport uniforms from Under Armour this season. The Cardinals will wear scarlet jerseys at home and white jerseys on the road. The team will wear either scarlet pants or red pants, giving the Cardinals four different uniform combinations.

The jerseys will sport the name "Lamar" in 2-inch capital letters on the front above 10-inch numerals. The back of the jersey will have 12-inch numbers. The white jersey will have scarlet numbers and letters with black trim, and black and scarlet striping on the sides and collar. The scarlet jersey will have white letters and numbers with black trim, and black and white striping on the sides and collars.

The scarlet pants will feature black and white striping on the sides, the Lamar Cardinal logo on the front left leg and the name "Cardinals" in 1.25-inch capital letters on the back waistband in white with black trim. The white pants will feataure red and white striping on the sides, the Lamar Cardinal logo on the left leg and the name Cardinals in 1.25-inch capital letters on the back waistband in red with black trim.

The Cardinals will wear white helmets with the Cardinal logo on both sides.

The season starts Sept. 4 at McNeese State. The home opener is set for Sept. 11 vs. Webber International in the newly renovated Provost-Umphrey Stadium.
