Senior defensive end Jesse Dickson, and freshman running back Kade Harrington highlight the 2013 College Sports Madness All-Southland Conference teams announced publication officials Saturday afternoon. Ten Lamar Cardinals were named to the CSM postseason squad including Dickson who was named 2013 SLC Defensive Player of the Year, and Harrington who locked up his second conference freshman of the year honor.

Lamar had 10 players named to the CSM All-Southland Conference teams, including three first-team selections, four second-team honors and three named to the third team. The Cardinals had five offensive players recognized, three defensive players and two special team selections.

The three first-teamers are Dickson, defensive back Tyrus McGlothen and punter Kollin Kahler. The four Cardinals named to the second team are Harrington, quarterback Caleb Berry, receiver Reggie Begelton and punt returner Kevin Johnson. Receiver Mark Roberts, center Kyle Gillam and linebacker James Washington were the third-team selections.

Dickson led the team, and finished tied for ninth in the Southland with 81 tackles on the season. He also ranked among the league's top five in sacks, and tied for the top spot in tackles for losses. One of the original signees after Lamar announced it was bringing back football, Dickson was the lone defensive lineman who ranked among the league's top 30 in tackles.

Harrington recorded his second freshman of the year honor in less than a week. He received the same recognition Tuesday when the league released its all-conference teams. Harrington set a new Lamar freshman rushing record finishing the season with 880 yards. He proved to be a threat as a receiver as well finishing eighth in the conference with 48 catches for 378 yards. He finished the year with 12 total touchdowns.
