Lamar Posts Four Sub-Par Rounds On First Day of Gifford Collegiate

SAN MARTIN, Calif. -- Led by MJ Daffue's 4-under 68, the Lamar golf team is tied for second place after the opening round of the Gifford Collegiate at CordeValle Monday.
Lamar's six players combined to shoot 8-under as a team with a 352 total in the play six, count five format. The score is LU's lowest at the event since it went to the expanded format two years ago.
Duke leads the 14-team field with a 350, two shots ahead of LU. Oklahoma State is tied with the Cardinals, followed by USC at 353 and Stanford at 354.
Pierre-Alexis Rolland is tied for 12th following his 2-under 70, while James Dalthorp and Hugues Joannes are tied for 22nd at 71. Kevin Hesbois' even-par round of 72 placed him in a tie for 32nd and Xavier Feyaerts carded a 77 and is tied for 70th.
Lamar and Duke will be paired together on Tuesday with the first of the foursomes going off No. 1 at Noon Central time.
