Cardinals Tennis Takes Down Southern 7-0

BATON ROUGE, La. - The Lamar University men's tennis team won their second straight match Tuesday afternoon, taking out the Southern Jaguars 7-0 in Baton Rouge, La. Lamar claimed the doubles point to start the match, posting 8-6 wins at No. 1 and No.2, while winning the third doubles match by default. In singles play the Cards rolled over the Jaguars 6-0, winning a one through five, while picking up a default victory at No. 6. At the No. 1 spot, Maciej Bogusz downed Bino Rasedisa 6-2, 6-2, while Marton Horvath took out Marlon Gichie 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2. In the three spot Richard Filkuka defeated Tyler Chin 6-3, 6-0, Diego Snyder won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 over Kashwayne Nelson and Devin Harley beat Elvis Espinal 2-6, 6-2, 10-5 at No. 5. Enrique Carrasco collected the win at No. 6 by default. With the win the Cardinals improve to 6-5 on the year. They will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to New Orleans, La. to face the University of New Orleans at 2 p.m. Below is a list of the results from Tuesday's match against Southern: Singles competition
