COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Lamar University's Denis Ermilov lost in the consolation singles finals at the USTA-ITA Men's Tennis Regionals at Texas A&M on Monday.

Ermilov moved to the finals with a 7-6, 7-6 win over Austin Kiores of Texas A&M in the semifinals, but dropped a 7-6, 6-0 decision to Jonathan Chang of Rice in the finals.

Ermilov advanced to the quarterfinals of the consolation draw at the ITA Men's Tennis Regionals at Texas A&M on Sunday.

Ermilov posted a pair of wins Sunday, defeating Ronald Chidzikwe of Prairie View A&M 6-1, 6-0 and Sebastien Job of Texas-Pan American 6-3, 6-2.

Ermilov will play Monday at a time to be determined.

Other Lamar results on Sunday saw Marton Horvath posting a 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 win over Yannick Junger of UTSA before dropping a 6-2, 7-5 decision to Jonathan Chang of Rice.

Devin Harley, Carlos Valdenebro and Dusan Savkovic all lost their consolation matches Sunday.

OnSaturday, Lamar's only win came when Diego Snyder held on for a three-set win over Abdelhamind Rianiof Texas-Pan American by scores of 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 before falling to Gonzalo Escobar of Texas Tech 6-0, 6-0.

Lamar lost all of its doubles matches on Saturday.

"We had a much better day on Sunday," Lamar coach Scott Shankles said. "We were in a lot of close matches. We just have to learn how to finish them."
