Johnsen Leads Cardinals

LUBBOCK, Texas - Matt Johnsen turned in Lamar's best finish, placing sixth in the 1-mile run with a time of 4:24.40 at the Texas Tech Classic over the weekend.

Kyle Hawley placed seventh in the men's 5,000 meters with a clocking of 16:00.78, with teammate Jose Leos placing 12th in 16:11.23.

Greg Williams was 16th in the 200 meters in 22.77 and 11th in the 400 meters with a time of 49.20. Teammate Jerel Massenburge was 20th in the 400 in 50.25, JuliusKasule was 25th (50.39) and Jamal Nash was 26th (50.47).

The Cardinals had five finishers in the top 25 of the men's 800 meters, led by Josh Raglon in 17th (1:58.93), followed by Austin Malek (18th in 1:59.22), Aaron Malek (19th in 1:59.24), Jared Rodriguez (20th in 1:59.38) and Justin Krautz (22nd in 1:59.58).

Ryan Kelly of Lamar was 17th in the 3,000 meters in a time of 9:31.27.

In the 4x400 relay, Lamar's A team of Justin Krautz, Greg Williams, Jamal Nash and Josh Raglon finished seventh in 3:18.83, while the Lamar B team of Aaron Malek, Barry Ford, Van Franks and Austin Malek was 24th in 3:37.99.
