FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Nick Fyffe finished fifth in the triple jump as Lamar wrapped up competition at the Tyson Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Complex on the campus of the University of Arkansas.

Fyffe, a freshman out of Vancouver, put up a mark of 48 feet, 5.25 inches to rank as the fourth-best performer in the Southland Conference this season.

"Nick had a very strong performance," LU jumps coach Jake Cohen said. "It was his first time collegiately competing in the triple jump, and it's good to see before heading into conference later this month."

Elsewhere, Johnathan Reece finished eighth in the high jump with a mark of six feet, 7.5 inches, and Ashley Idunoba was disqualified from the 200 meter dash after a lane violation.

Lamar Track and Field will return to action at the Southland Indoor Championships in Norman, Okla., on February 22 and 23.
