HOUSTON - The Lamar University men's and women's distance medley relay teams had solid showings at Saturday's UH Run Sport All-Comers Meet on Saturday, each capturing first place.

In addition to the first place finishes, the Cardinals also captured second place in the women's race, while the men added a third place finish.

On the women's side, the `Lamar A' team posted a time of 12:08.84, narrowly edging the `Lamar B' team who ran a 12:09.89. The times posted by the two Cardinal relay teams were more than 40 seconds faster then the third place finishers.

The LU men's `B' team ran to a first place finish with a time of 10:19.69, while the `Lamar A' team came in third place with a 10:32.47.

Several Lamar sprinters also had solid performances on Saturday, but did not compete in the finals of their respective events.

The Cardinals will be in action again on Friday and Saturday, participating in the 2007 Southland Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Yeoman Field House at the University of Houston.
