The Lamar University men's and women's indoor track teams combined to win three individual titles at the Leonard Hilton Invitational over the weekend at the University of Houston.
In the men's competition, Chris Smith won the 800 meters in 1 minute, 57.38 seconds, while Joe Wade captured the mile run in 4:14.59. In the women's competition, Taylor Cloy won the 5,000 meters in a time of 18:07.15.
In addition to the three winners, Lamar had a number of other top-10 finishes.
On the men's side, Sam Stabler was second in the mile run in 4:16.00, while Chris Jones was 10th in 4:28.45. In the 800 meters, Josh Raglon was fifth in 1:58.35, Aaron Malek was sixth in 1:59.77 and Mark Woodley placed seventh in 2:00.52.
Matt Johnsen took second in the 5,000 meters in 15:02.29, while Antony Pequeno took fifth in 15:37.64. Corey Atkins took second in the men's 60-meter hurdles in 8.36, while Wesley Williams placed sixth in 8.51.
In the women's competition, Samantha Walkow placed fifth in the mile run in 4:59.35, while Alisha Cofer took ninth in the 200 meters in 26.83 seconds. Claire miles was third in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:22.21, while Angela LaBorde took eighth in 19:11.37.
Leslie Beard finished third in the pole vault with an effort of 3.40 meters (11 feet, 1.75 inches).
There was no team scoring.
Lamar returns to action at the Birmingham Invitational on Jan. 25-26 in Birmingham, Ala.
