Tom Wade earns second-team All-America status

DES MOINES, Iowa - - Lamar University's Tom Wade earned second-team All-America honors after placing 13th in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. Wade, who had qualified for Saturday's finals with a personal best of 8 minutes, 40.50 seconds in Thursday's semifinals, posted a time of 9:03.59 on Saturday. Donn Cabral of Princeton won the national title in 8:35.44. Craig Forys of Michigan was second in 8:40.66. Wade made his second straight appearance at the national championships. Last season, he was an honorable mention All-America in the steeplechase. It was the third straight season Lamar has an an entry in the steeplechase at the national championships. Joonas Harjamaki was a first-team All-America after placing seventh in 2010. LAMAR
