Cards tie for 32nd in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. - The Lamar University men's cross country team placed in a tie for 32nd at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Friday. The Cardinals finished with 710 points, putting them in a tie with Florida in the 39-team field. Wisconsin won the team title with 66 points. Tom Wade was Lamar's top finisher, covering the eight-kilometer course in 24 minutes, 46.5 seconds to place 95th in the 270-man field. Lawi Lalang of Arizona won the individual title in 23:10.8. Other finishers for Lamar were Matt Johnsen in 102nd (24:49.9), Joe Wade in 149th (25:06.9), Bob Ahimbisibwe in 163rd (25:14.3) and Anthony Pequeno in 201st (25:33.8). Lamar returns to action Oct. 31 when it competes at the Southland Conference Championships in Nacogdoches, Texas. The Cardinals will aim for their sixth straight conference title. LAMAR
