Johnsen places 43rd at world meet

BEAUMONT, Texas - Lamar University's Matt Johnsen placed 43rd at the World University Men's Cross Country Championships over the weekend in Lodz, Poland. Johnsen, representing Australia, covered the 10 kilometers in 30 minutes, 54 seconds, helping his country to a sixth-place finish. Abdelmajed Touil of Algeria won the race in 29:11. Japan won the team title. Johnsen will return to action for Lamar when the Cardinals compete at the Southland Conference Outdoor Track Championships set for May 11-13 in San Marcos, Texas. LAMAR
