BEAUMONT, Texas - Lamar University's Joonas Harjamaki placed 60th at the European Cross Country Championships in Dublin, Ireland, on Sunday.

Harjamaki, who earned all-conference status from the Southland Conference while representing the Lamar men's cross country team this fall, was timed in 35 minutes, 38 seconds for the 10-kilometer course while competing for his native Finland. Alemayehu Bezabeh of Spain won the race in 30:45.

Harjamaki, a junior, will compete for the Lamar indoor and outdoor track teams this season.
