Feb. 17, 2010
HUNTSVILLE, Texas - Darika Hill had career highs with 29 points and 16 rebounds, but it wasn't enough for the Lamar University women's basketball team in a 73-65 loss to host Sam Houston State in a Southland Conference game Wednesday night.
Lamar (19-6 overall, 9-2 conference) struggled from the field, connecting on just 32.0 percent of its shots (24-of-75) from the field. It was the lowest percentage for the Lady Cardinals since their season-opening loss at Minnesota.
Lamar was just 5-of-27 (18.5 percent) from 3-point range.
Ray Alexander had 19 points for Sam Houston State (7-16, 4-7). Brittany Brooks had a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Lamar returns to action at 2:05 p.m. Saturday when it hosts Northwestern State in a conference game at the Montagne Center.
