MONROE, La. - Kalis Loyd scored 17 points to lead four players in double figures as the Lamar University women's basketball team rolled to an 88-56 win over host University of Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday afternoon.
Darika Hill and Brittney Williams had 14 points apiece for Lamar (7-2), while Ang Green added 13 points apiece as the Lady Cardinals topped the Warhawks for the second straight season.
Jenna Plumley had nine points to go along with team highs of seven rebounds and six assists as the Lady Cardinals won for the second consecutive time and for the seventh time in their last eight games. Trashanna Smith also had nine points for Lamar.
The Lady Cardinals shot 50.0 percent from the floor (32-of-64) from the field for the game, including 59.4 percent (19-of-32) in the second half. Defensively, Lamar forced Louisiana-Monroe to commit 25 turnovers.
Priscilla Mbiandja led the Warhawks (4-4) with 17 points and seven rebounds as Louisiana-Monroe lost its third straight game.
Lamar returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, with a non-conference game at Texas Tech. The next home game for the Lady Cardinals is set for 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, when Rice visits the Montagne Center for a non-conference contest.
