Lady Cardinals Take On Paul Quinn College Tuesday at 7 p.m.

BEAUMONT - The Lamar University women's basketball team closes out their non conference schedule Tuesday night at 7:00 when they host the Lady Lions of Paul Quinn College at the Montagne Center. Lamar enters the game with an 8-4 record after dropping an 82-45 decision to the No. 4 ranked University of Texas Longhorns on Saturday afternoon in Austin, Texas. In their first two games last week the Lady Cards dropped a 72-58 decision to North Dakota on Monday night and defeated Niagara 64-54 on Tuesday. The Lady Cards are led by Nikki Williams who is averaging 13.3 points per game while Brittney Williams is averaging 10.8 points per game. Trashanna Smith leads the team in rebounding with eight per game and Agnija Reke leads LU with 4.4 assists per game. As a team the Lady Cardinals are averaging 61.5 points per game, while allowing an average of 60.3 points per contest. Paul Quinn, an NAIA school and a member of the Red River Athletic Conference, enters the game with a 2-13 record on the year. They have played one other Southland Conference school this season, falling 96-60 to Texas State on December 3, 3008. After Tuesday night's game against Paul Quinn, the Lady Cards will open Southland Conference play on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 when they take on Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond, La.
