BEAUMONT - Chrisan Petrovanie of Lake Country Christian School has signed with Lamar University to continue her education and play women's basketball for the Lady Cardinals, announced head coach Larry Tidwell Tuesday afternoon.

Petrovanie, a 6-4 native of Trinidad, comes to Lamar from LCCS where she has had a very strong senior season. She's averaging 12.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, while also dishing out two assists per game. Her work on the defensive end of the floor has also been impressive, averaging 4 blocks and 1.3 steals per game.

In addition to her success at LCCS, Petrovanie is a member of the Lady Lakers Basketball Club of North Texas. She is listed as the No. 102 player in the country and the No. 26 post player by the Collegiate Girls Basketball Report.

"Chrisan brings us an immediate inside presence," Tidwell said. "She is big, strong and mobile and is definitely a shot blocker, which is something we really need. She's only been playing organized basketball for three years, but is very focused and dedicated to becoming the best player possible. She has a tremendous upside."
