The Lamar University women's basketball team returns to the Montagne Center Wednesday night, where they will host the University of Central Arkansas at 7 p.m.
Lamar enters Wednesday's game with a 13-7 season record and a 4-3 mark in Southland Conference play after a nail biting 69-68 loss to UTSA in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday. The Lady Cardinals have a perfect 11-0 record at home this season, and have won 12 straight at the Montagne Center, dating back to the 2007-08 home finale against Southeastern Louisiana.
The Lady Cards are led by Nikki Williams who is averaging 13.8 points per game while Brittney Williams and Darika Hill are averaging 12.2 and 10.5 points per game respectively. Trashanna Smith leads the team in rebounding and blocked shots with 8.0 boards per game and has 37 blocks on the year, while Agnija Reke leads LU with 4.2 assists per game. As a team the Lady Cardinals are averaging 65.4 points per game, while allowing an average of 61.7 points per contest.
Central Arkansas enters the game with a 6-14 season record, while going 2-5 in Southland Conference play. The Sugar Bears lost their last outing 57-54 to East division leader Northwestern State at home on Saturday.
The Sugar Bears are led by Destinee Rogers 9.4 points per game, while Chorcelle Taylor is the team leader with five rebounds per game. AS a team UCA is averaging 58 points per game, while allowing their opponents to score 68.2 points per contest.
After Wednesday's game the Lady Cardinals will host Stephen F. Austin on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
