BEAUMONT, Texas -
Lamar University's Ang Green was named to the second team of the Southland Conference Women's Basketball All-Academic Team the conference announced Thursday.
Green graduated from Lamar in December with a bachelor's degree in communication while carrying a 3.76 grade-point average. She is pursuing a master's degree in criminology from Lamar. On the court, Green, who was a first-team all-academic selection last season, averaged 3.1 points and 1.7 rebounds per game this season.
For her career, Green played 123 games, tied for Britney Williams for second on Lamar's all-time list, while scoring 843 points. In her four seasons, Lamar went 87-42, won a Southland Conference regular-season and tournament title and played in the NCAA Tournament and the WNIT.
"We're very proud of Ang," Lamar coach Larry Tidwell said. "To contribute to our team for four years while graduating early with a grade GPA is an impressive accomplishment."
