Larry Tidwell offering several basketball camps this summer

BEAUMONT - Lamar University women's basketball coach Larry Tidwell will offer four girls basketball camps at the Montagne Center this summer. There are various camps for students of all ages and skill levels. A four-day camp for shooting and offensive/defensive skills is slated for June 11-14. The cost is $125 for the full day (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) or $75 for the half day (9 a.m.-noon), and is open to girls ages 6-17. There will also be a varsity high school position camp on June 12-13 from 6-8 p.m. for $25. From July 27-29, Tidwell will offer a junior varsity and varsity team camp. The cost will be $50 per player with a minimum of eight players per team. Each team is guaranteed five games. The final camp will be a three-day elite camp geared toward high school varsity players, scheduled for Aug. 3-5 at a cost of $150. This will be an overnight camp. All campers will receive a daily lunch, a T-shirt, a camp certificate, a shooting evaluation and a written evaluation. Contest winners will be awarded certificates.
