The Lamar University women's basketball team will host their final exhibition game of the 2007-08 season Tuesday night at 7:00 when they take on the Houston Jaguars at the Montagne Center.
In their first exhibition of the season the Lady Cardinals dropped a 66-62 decision to the All Stars on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Tamara Abalde led the way for Lamar, scoring17 points with six rebounds, while sophomore Ashley Crawford added 13 points. Juniors Nikki Williams and Emily Spickler each finished the game with 11 points for LU.
The Lady Cards had a strong first half performance on the offensive end of the floor on Saturday, knocking down 60 percent of their shots from the field, but cooled off in the second half, shooting just 25 percent.
The Jaguars are made up of former college and pro players that tour around the country playing exhibition games against universities. They knocked off the University of Houston on Friday night, handing the Lady Coogs an 83-80 loss at Hofheinz Pavilion.
After Tuesday night's showdown with the Jaguars, the Lady Cardinals will be off until Saturday, when they take on the LSU-Shreveport Lady Pilots at 7 p.m. in the Montagne Center in their season opener.
