Lamar Women Host Louisiana Monroe Saturday at 2 p.m.

BEAUMONT - The Lamar University women's basketball team closes out a four game home stand on Saturday when they play host the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks at 2 p.m. at the Montage Center.

Lamar enters the game with a 4-1 record after a 69-56 win over LSU-Shreveport on Wednesday night at the Montagne Center. The Lady Cardinals have won three straight games, taking down Texas Southern, Alcorn State and Shreveport.

The Lady Cards are led by Darika Hill who is averaging team highs in scoring and rebounding with 13.4 points and 8.6 boards per game. Nikki Williams and Brittney Williams are averaging 12.6 and 11.8 points per game, while Agnija Reke has passed out 30 assists.

As a team the Lady Cardinals are averaging 62.6 points per game, while allowing an averaging of 53 points per contest. Lamar has won the rebounding battle 40.2 to 38.4 through five games, and has 55 steals compared to their opponents 38.

Monroe enters the game with a 4-2 record after 62-60 loss to Tulane last Saturday.

After Saturday's game against Monroe, the Lady Cards hit the road for a Monday night showdown with Baylor in Waco, Texas.
