Lamarcardinals.com sat down with freshman Whitney Coffey to talk a little basketball. Take a look at what the forward from Princeton, Texas had to say.

LC: What made you choose Lamar University?

WC: The team. I loved how they are a family. All the other schools I visited were not near as close.

LC: What goals have you set for yourself this season?

WC: Get better as a player and make good grades in all my classes.

LC: If you weren’t playing college basketball, what sport would you be playing?

WC: I wouldn't be playing any sports.

LC: Who is the most important person in your life and why?

WC: My parents. They have been here for me my whole life. They're amazing!

LC: What was the most memorable game of your career?

WC: When we played in the regional tournament my junior year.

LC: What is your most prized possession and why?

WC: My cell phone. I would die without it.

LC: What do you think is the most important part of building a championship team?

WC: Hard work, communication, and being a family.

LC: Do you have any special talents that that most people don’t know about?

WC: No

LC: What are your plans for life after basketball?

WC: I want to be a basketball coach.

LC: What are your first impressions of lady Cardinals basketball?

WC: Play hard or don't play at all.
