KLVI to air 10 women's basketball games

BEAUMONT, Texas - Ten Lamar University regular-season women's basketball games will be aired live on KLVI (AM 560) this season, it was announced today. In addition, KLVI will air all Lady Cardinals' postseason contests.

"I'm excited that KLVI will be doing Lady Cardinals games this season," KLVI news and sports director Harold Mann said. "The Lady Cardinals are a very successful, and we are looking forward to having Lamar women's basketball as part of our schedule."

KLVI's first broadcast will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 21 when Lamar travels to Houston Baptist. The remainder of the regular-season games will all be Saturday Southland Conference games, starting with the Jan. 5 contest at Northwestern State. In addition to the game broadcasts, Lamar women's basketball coach Larry Tidwell has a weekly show every Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. on KLVI.

"I think it's great that our games will be on KLVI, and will reach a wide audience," Tidwell said. "I have always said that KLVI is the official radio station of the Lady Cardinals, and this just further stamps that brand."

The KLVI broadcasts will be simulcast on Lamar's website, www.LamarCardinals.com. All remaining women's basketball games will be internet-only broadcasts on the Lamar website.
