Rim to Rim with Lady Cardinals Basketball

Lamarcardinals.com sat down with Nikki Williams for a Rim to Rim discuassion. Here's a look at what the senior guard had to say.

LC: As you start your second season with the Lady Cardinals, what do you think will be your strongest asset to bring the team?

NW: I think from looking back at last season, we need a lot of energy and effort daily. We have to be very aggressive in every phase of the game, and we should leave everything on the court... We made a big step last year and are looking forward to an even bigger success this year! We have a lot of talent and have players willing to work hard and know what it takes to win!

LC: What goals have you set for yourself this season?

NW: I have set leadership goals. I know the game will come to me. I'm not a selfish player; I love to get my teammates involved. I'm looking forward to a memorable senior year. I'm looking to uplift my teammates with praise and confidence.

LC: If you weren't playing college basketball, what sport would you be playing?

NW: I'm grateful to be a student-athlete. I was an all-around athlete in high school; I played basketball, volleyball and track. Between the three of those sports, volleyball was the other most interesting.

LC: What do you most look forward to after graduation?

NW: I look forward to the opportunity to play on the next level. I am determined and motivated to succeed!

LC: What is something that most people do not realize about you?

NW: Most people do not realize that I am a down to earth person. I never try to be moody with others, but I can if you take advantage of me.

LC: What is your most prized possession and why??

NW: My heart is my possession. I put dedication and my heart in all I do. I don't have an item as a possession, but one thing I do have is a big heart

LC: What was your most memorable game last year and why?

NW: My Most memorable game last year was the championship game against UTSA. It was a very close game that was a win/loss situation. We played really hard, even though we had some down falls. Now we know that we can succeed in the end.

LC: Do you have a hidden talent that most people do not know about?

NW: Definitely Not!!! God gives us talents not to hide, but to pursue in something you enjoy. I enjoy playing basketball and my dreams are to become a professional basketball player overseas.
