Lamar Women Host Arkansas-Pine Bluff Thursday at 7 p.m.

BEAUMONT - The Lamar University women's basketball team returns to action Thursday night at 7:00 at the Montagne Center when they take on the Lady Lions of the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff. Fans can tune into every Lamar women's basketball game by clicking on the listen live link on the Lady Cardinals schedule page. Lamar enters the game with a 5-2 record after a loss at Baylor last Monday. Prior to the setback at Baylor the Lady Cards had won four straight games, taking out Texas Southern, Alcorn State, LSU-Shreveport and Louisiana Monroe. In five games at home this season, LU is undefeated. The Lady Cards are led by Nikki Williams who is averaging 12.7 points per game while Brittney Williams is averaging 11.9 points per game. Darika Hill is averaging 10.9 points and seven rebounds per game; Trashanna Smith leads the team in rebounding with 7.1 per game, while Agnija Reke leads LU with 4.7 assists per game. As a team the Lady Cardinals are averaging 60.3 points per game, while allowing an averaging of 59.3 points per contest. Arkansas Pine Bluff comes into Thursday's game with a 1-6 record on the year, on the heels of a 105-49 loss at North Carolina on Monday night. The Lady Lions are led by Arica Green's 14 points per game while Ciara Shields is averaging 10.7 points and seven rebounds per contest. After Thursday's game against Arkansas-Pine the Lady Cardinals will play host to Mississippi Valley State on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Montagne Center.
