BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University women’s basketball coach Larry Tidwell announced today that senior guard Taylor Hays has left the team.

Hays appeared in seven games for the Lady Cardinals (6-2) this season, averaging 7.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. Over three seasons, Hays appeared in 65 games, starting 11. She finishes her career with averages of 4.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest.

“I want to thank Taylor for all of her contributions to the women’s basketball program,” Tidwell said. “I wish her nothing but the best.”

The Lady Cardinals, who have an RPI of 12, the best-ever for the program, return to action at 6 p.m. Friday with a non-conference game at Houston Baptist.
