Lamar Women Add Miletic to Recruiting Class

Dec. 30, 2008

BEAUMONT - Aleksandra Miletic, a 6-4 center from Carl Albert Junior College in Poteau, Oklahoma, has inked her National Letter of Intent to play for the Lamar Lady Cardinals announced head coach Larry Tidwell.

Miletic, who is currently averaging 13 points and eight rebounds for Carl Albert while leading them to a 9-3 non-conference standing, is a red-shirt freshman and will have three years of eligibility for the Red & White. She will come to Lamar with the ability to run the floor in transition, knock down the outside shot, play tough defense in the paint, and has the size to be one of the leading shot blockers in the Southland Conference.

"Alex was a steal," Tidwell said. "She has a complete game on both ends of the court while also having a tremendous upside in becoming an even better player."

Miletic will come to Lamar and major in nutrition and is maintaining a 3.5 GPA in that field at the present time.

A native of Belgrade, Serbia, Miletic was active in club basketball throughout her earlier years. After coming to America, she has climbed the national ranking charts as Dan Olson of the National JUCO Report has her listed as the 12th best player at the power forward position in the 2009 junior college recruiting class.

"Alex has a true passion for the game," added Tidwell. "She'll bring a high maturity level to the team as she is very focused, is an extremely hard worker, knows what she wants out of the game and is serious about her educational field."
