Lamar Ties For First At Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate

VICTORIA, Texas - Lamar and Texas State both posted identical 920 54-hole totals on the final day of the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate at the Victoria Country Club on Tuesday.

Lamar improved upon its matching 308s from the first day to fire a 304 on Tuesday. Texas State was declared the winner after the tournament called for the team tie to be broken by the fifth (non-counting) score of the final round for each team. The Bobcats' fifth score was lower than the Lady Cardinals on Tuesday.

Arkansas State was third at 935, UTSA was fourth at 937, while UTEP and McNeese State tied for fifth at 943. Cassie Huffer of Arkansas State claimed medalist honors with a 222 score, three stroke better than Gabby de Reuck of Texas State.

Linda Persson shot a final round 77 to finish third at 227 and Therese Nilsson's 73 - her best of the tournament - placed her alone in fourth place at 228.

Channing Norton tied for 17th with a 235 following an 80. Lina Nilsson-Balfe recorded her best 18 of the tourney with a 74 which gave her a 240 score and tie for 32nd. Fabienne Haremza shot 89 for a 245 total and a tie for 49th.
