Lamar Finishes 12th at Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Lamar Lady Cardinals' golf team had two players in the overall top 27, but struggled to a 12th-place finish at the nationally competitive 3M Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate Sunday in Augusta, Ga.

Lamar fired a 332-305-311 - 946 on the par 72 Forest Hills Golf Club course.

LU was led by freshman Bertille DuPont who finished tied for 23rd overall with an 81-73-77 - 231. Dupont finished just a stroke ahead of classmate Wenny Chang. One of four freshmen on the LU roster, Chang ended the day tied for 27th with a three-round 232 (85-73-74 - 232).

Following the Lady Cardinals top two players, Lamar's next lowest score came from freshman Kelly Erasmus who was 11 strokes back of Chang. Erasmus was unable to recover from a slow start posting an 84-80-79 - 243 to finish tied for 56th overall.

Junior Nghi Ngo carded an 82-82-81 - 245 to end the tournament in a tie for 61st overall. Ngo finished just ahead of sophomore Taylor Stockton who recorded an 85-79-83 - 247 (68th).

The Lady Cardinals return to action Monday, March 31, when they travel to Sugar Land, Texas to compete in the Husky Invitational.
