TULSA, Okla. - The Lamar women's golf team posted its second top-five finish of the year with a fourth-place showing at the ORU Shootout at Meadowbrook Country Club.

Led by senior Therese Nilsson's final-round 76, the Lady Cardinals shot 318 for a 936 total. Nilsson tied for 11th individually with a 232 54-hole score.

Freshman Jennel Alexander wasn't able to maintain the strong play that placed her in fifth place as she completed her second collegiate tournament in a tie for 15th at 235, following an 86 on Tuesday.

Junior Linda Persson turned in the second-lowest round of the day for Lamar with an 80 to finish tied for 32nd at 239.

Senior Channing Norton and junior Lina Nilsson-Balfe each shot 81 to conclude the tournament. Norton's 247 total put her in a tie for 24th while Nilsson-Balfe's 243 placed her in a tie for 45th.

Oral Roberts won the event with a 913 score, followed by UTEP at 924 and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 932.

Lamar will return to Beaumont for one day before departing for the LPGA International Xavier Invitational, Friday-Sunday, Oct. 10-12.
