Lamar Heads To Golf Coast Of Alabama For USA Lady Jaguar Invite

MOBILE, Ala. -- Coming off their first tournament title of the year, the Lamar women's golf team heads to Mobile, Ala., for the USA Lady Jaguar Invitational, Monday and Tuesday at the Azalea City Golf Course. The Lady Cardinals will be one of four teams in the field of 18 teams rated among the top 100 in the Golfweek rankings. Also, Southland Conference members McNeese State and Nicholls State will also be among the competitors. In last year's event, Lamar opened with a team score of 303before closing with a 311 for a 36-hole total of 614 to place fourth in the 20-team field. Middle Tennessee won the team title with at 592. South Alabama was second at 595 and Western Carolina was third at 604. The teams will play 36-holes on Monday beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and 18 holes on Tuesday.
