LARAMIE, Wyo. – Freshman Megan Campbell scored her first career goal, but the Lamar Lady Cardinals dropped a 3-1 decision at Wyoming in a non-conference women’s soccer game Sunday.

Campbell scored on a breakaway at the 11:59 mark of the first half to pull the Lady Cardinals (0-2) into a 1-1 tie with Wyoming (1-1), but Sara Paul scored the first of her two goals a little more than eight minutes later to give the Cowgirls the lead for good.

Liz O’Reilly also scored for Wyoming.

Elizabeth Silas took the loss for Lamar, allowing two goals and making two saves in the first half. Bailey Fontenot made two saves while allowing one goal in the second half.

"All of their goals came off our mistakes. We are creating problems for ourselves," Lamar coach Orlando Cervantes said. "We'll work on things in practice and hopefully have those corrections made before our next game."

Lamar returns to action at 7 p.m. Friday with a non-conference game at Southern.
