BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University women’s soccer team saw three players earn honorable mention All-Southland Conference honors.
Junior forward Kimmy Albeno, sophomore midfielder Jannet Hernandez and senior defender Amber Thornhill all received accolades for their efforts this past season.
Albeno, who became Lamar’s all-time leading scorer, led the Cardinals in scoring this season with 18 points on eight goals and two assists. Hernandez was second on the team in scoring with 15 points on six goals and three assists. Thornhill, one of the mainstays of Lamar’s back line, scored one goal this season.
Lamar finished the season with a 7-10-2 record, including a 4-62 mark in the Southland Conference. It marked the first time since 2009 that the Cardinals failed to qualify for the postseason.
